Life Ribbon Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Life Ribbon, a product and service of RUPTON LLC ("Life Ribbon," "Company," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms apply to the Life Ribbon mobile app, website, web portal, admin-supported beta services, story packs, subscriptions, AI-assisted features, exports, and related services.

By creating an account, tapping Continue with Google, signing in, purchasing, uploading content, accepting an invitation, or otherwise using Life Ribbon, you agree to these Terms and to the Life Ribbon Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Life Ribbon.

1. Eligibility and Authority

Life Ribbon is intended for users age 13 and older. If you are under 13, you may not use Life Ribbon. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Life Ribbon only with consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

If you use Life Ribbon on behalf of another person, family, trust, estate, business, or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so and to bind that person or entity to these Terms.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have all permissions, consents, releases, and rights needed to record, upload, preserve, share, synthesize, export, or publish content involving other people, including their voice, image, likeness, name, private information, and copyrighted materials.

2. Accounts and Security

You agree to provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.

We may require web portal admin approval, tester designation, email verification, Google authentication, abuse checks, or other access controls before allowing access to some features. We may suspend access while reviewing security, fraud, billing, or policy concerns.

3. License to Use Life Ribbon

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Life Ribbon for personal, family, storytelling, journaling, and memory-preservation purposes.

You may not:

Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or exploit Life Ribbon software or services.
Circumvent authentication, payment, entitlement, access-control, storage, or rate-limit systems.
Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated tools against Life Ribbon without written permission.
Interfere with service integrity, security, or availability.
Use Life Ribbon to build a competing product or train a competing system using our prompts, structure, brand assets, UI, story packs, or generated materials.
Remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

4. Intellectual Property and Trademarks

Life Ribbon, Ribbon, the Ribbon guide/mascot/persona, the Infinity Ribbon or Eternal Thread marks, logos, app icons, badges, visual identity, question packs, prompt library, chapter structure, Story Card system, review studio, narration experience, software, user interface, workflows, copy, and brand assets are owned by RUPTON LLC or its licensors.

"Life Ribbon" and "Ribbon" are trademarks of RUPTON LLC. Ribbon's name, personality, tone, conversational style, character design, and associated assets are original creative intellectual property of RUPTON LLC.

You may not use Life Ribbon names, logos, marks, screenshots, Ribbon character assets, product copy, or brand assets in a way that implies ownership, endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or affiliation without written permission.

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means recordings, videos, photos, uploaded files, written entries, journal entries, transcripts you edit, captions, family information, story prompts you submit, comments, and other materials you provide to Life Ribbon.

You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant Life Ribbon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transcode, display, transmit, back up, transcribe, summarize, organize, generate metadata from, synthesize narration from when consented, and export Your Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, improve, and operate Life Ribbon.

This license continues while Your Content remains in Life Ribbon and for backup, legal, security, dispute, and operational retention periods described in the Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy.

We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We do not sell Your Content. We do not use Your Content for advertising. We do not use Your Content to train Life Ribbon-owned foundation models.

6. Content Rights, Consent, and Family Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

You own or have permission to upload and use Your Content.
You have permission to record or upload another person's voice, image, likeness, name, private details, letters, photos, videos, or copyrighted materials.
You will not invite someone to view private content unless you have authority to share it.
You will respect restrictions requested by storytellers, family members, contributors, guardians, or rights holders.
You will not use Life Ribbon to exploit, harass, shame, threaten, impersonate, defame, or manipulate another person.

Family archives can involve sensitive history, grief, estrangement, adoption, minors, illness, religion, politics, trauma, and other private subjects. You are responsible for deciding what to preserve and who may access it.

7. Voice, Likeness, and Narration Features

Voice narration and similar features may require the storyteller's express consent. Account owners may not consent to synthetic narration or voice/likeness use on behalf of a living storyteller unless the storyteller has legally authorized them to do so and the feature permits that workflow.

You may not use Life Ribbon to create misleading impersonations, deceptive synthetic media, unauthorized voice clones, fake statements, political deception, fraud, harassment, or content that violates another person's rights.

For deceased persons, estates, minors, or legally incapacitated persons, you are responsible for confirming applicable rights, permissions, family authority, and local law before using voice, image, or likeness features.

8. AI, Transcription, and Story Guidance

Ribbon and related AI features may generate transcripts, summaries, titles, themes, people/place/date suggestions, follow-up questions, chapter narratives, story review materials, and narration.

AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, lawful, appropriate, or emotionally suitable. You must review AI output before relying on it, sharing it, exporting it, publishing it, or using it in a final Life Ribbon.

Life Ribbon is not a therapist, lawyer, doctor, genealogist, financial advisor, estate planner, emergency service, or crisis service. Do not rely on Life Ribbon for professional advice or urgent help.

We may preserve original recordings and text separately from transcripts and AI-generated metadata. If transcription fails, your original recording may still be preserved.

9. Collaboration, Invitations, and Sharing

Project owners control invitations and permissions. Collaborators, storytellers, contributors, viewers, and family members may have different access levels. You are responsible for invitations you send and for ensuring invitee email addresses and role choices are correct.

Revoking access prevents future access through Life Ribbon but may not remove copies already downloaded, exported, screen-recorded, saved, or shared outside Life Ribbon by someone who previously had access.

10. Subscriptions, Purchases, Trials, and Story Packs

Life Ribbon may offer free features, trials, subscriptions, paid tiers, family bundles, contributor seats, story packs, one-time purchases, premium exports, narration, cloud export backup, and other paid or gated features.

Prices, features, storage limits, usage limits, availability, and entitlements may vary by platform, country, store, account, trial, promo, tester status, and offering. We may change offerings prospectively as allowed by law and store policies.

Mobile purchases may be processed by Apple or Google. Web purchases may be processed by Stripe. Entitlements may be managed through RevenueCat. You authorize the applicable processor to charge you according to the selected product, renewal interval, taxes, and store terms.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through the store, Stripe customer portal, RevenueCat-supported flow, or other provider interface that processed the purchase. Deleting the app or deleting a Life Ribbon account does not always cancel an external subscription. You are responsible for canceling through the applicable billing provider.

Refunds are handled by the store or payment processor that processed the purchase unless we expressly state otherwise. Story packs and digital features may become available immediately after purchase and may be non-refundable except where required by law or platform policy.

Complimentary grants, tester accounts, trial extensions, promo codes, family credits, and admin overrides have no cash value, are not transferable, and may be changed, revoked, or corrected if issued in error or abused.

11. Acceptable Use

You may not use Life Ribbon to:

Violate law or another person's rights.
Upload sexual content involving minors, child exploitation material, non-consensual intimate media, or illegal content.
Threaten, harass, abuse, defame, stalk, dox, exploit, or intimidate anyone.
Upload malware, spam, phishing, scams, or deceptive content.
Infringe copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, contractual, or confidentiality rights.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent source, consent, identity, or authority.
Circumvent paid tiers, usage limits, storage limits, access controls, or admin approval.
Interfere with Life Ribbon systems, providers, users, or security.
Use exported content in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.

We may remove content, suspend features, preserve evidence, notify authorities, or terminate accounts when we believe these Terms, law, safety, or service integrity require it.

12. Children and Minors

Users under 13 may not create accounts or use Life Ribbon directly. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information directly without required parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

Parents, guardians, or authorized adults may create family stories about minors only when they have legal authority and appropriate consent. Contact privacy@liferibbon.app if you believe a child provided information directly or if you need to request deletion of a minor's information.

13. Privacy, Export, and Deletion

Our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy explain how we collect, use, share, export, and delete information.

You may be able to export account or project data through supported app or web features. Exports may include sensitive personal information. You are responsible for protecting exported files and cloud backups.

Account deletion is permanent after the waiting period and may remove or limit access for linked storytellers, contributors, viewers, and family members. Certain billing, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, security, backup, and legal records may be retained as described in our policies.

14. Third-Party Services

Life Ribbon depends on third-party services such as Supabase, OpenAI or other AI providers, Cloudflare, Vercel, Expo, Resend, RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, Google, and other infrastructure, app-store, billing, authentication, storage, and connected-service providers.

We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, account restrictions, store decisions, processor delays, cloud account issues, or third-party terms. Your use of third-party accounts, stores, payment methods, Google services, device permissions, and cloud storage is governed by those providers' terms and privacy policies.

15. Beta, Admin, and Tester Features

Some features may be in beta, limited release, admin-approved access, tester mode, or internal testing. Beta and tester features may change, fail, lose data, display incorrect entitlements, or be withdrawn. Do not rely on beta features as your only archive or backup.

Admin tools are for support, safety, billing, access approval, monitoring, and launch operations. Authorized personnel may access account metadata and, when reasonably necessary for support, security, abuse review, legal compliance, or user request, related project or media information.

16. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content in Life Ribbon infringes your copyright, contact legal@liferibbon.app with:

Your name and contact information.
Identification of the copyrighted work.
Identification of the allegedly infringing content and where it appears.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act.
Your physical or electronic signature.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

17. Disclaimers

LIFE RIBBON IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, ACCURACY, AND ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

We do not guarantee that:

The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Recordings, transcripts, exports, AI output, or media playback will always work.
AI output will be accurate or complete.
Backups will prevent all data loss.
Third-party services will remain available.
A final Life Ribbon will meet any particular emotional, historical, legal, or production expectation.

Maintain your own backups of irreplaceable content.

18. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RUPTON LLC AND LIFE RIBBON WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, LOST CONTENT, LOSS OF GOODWILL, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, FAMILY DISPUTES, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO LIFE RIBBON WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO LIFE RIBBON FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RUPTON LLC, Life Ribbon, and their owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:

Your Content.
Your use or misuse of Life Ribbon.
Your violation of these Terms.
Your violation of law or another person's rights.
Your invitations, sharing decisions, exports, publications, or connected-service use.
Disputes between family members, collaborators, estates, rights holders, or invited users.

20. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Life Ribbon at any time and may request account deletion.

We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, limit features, revoke tester or comp access, or refuse service if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, failed to pay, abused trials or promotions, compromised security, infringed rights, or exposed Life Ribbon or others to legal or operational harm.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination survive, including ownership, content licenses needed for retention/deletion, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, disputes, and legal compliance.

21. App Store Terms

If you download Life Ribbon from Apple, Apple's standard terms and App Store rules may also apply. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Life Ribbon. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for iOS distribution where required by Apple.

If you download Life Ribbon from Google Play, Google Play terms and policies may also apply. Google is not responsible for Life Ribbon's support, content, or services except as required by Google Play policies or applicable law.

22. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Governing Law

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact legal@liferibbon.app and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs arbitration where applicable.

After informal resolution, disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable consumer or commercial arbitration rules, unless you opt out as described below or the claim qualifies for small claims court. Arbitration will be conducted in English and, unless the arbitrator requires otherwise, may occur by video, phone, or written submissions.

You and Life Ribbon waive the right to a jury trial and agree that claims must be brought individually, not as a class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative action, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days after first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@liferibbon.app with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your account email. This opt-out does not affect other parts of these Terms.

Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property misuse, confidentiality violations, unauthorized access, security abuse, or urgent harm.

If local consumer law gives you non-waivable rights or mandatory venue protections, those rights apply.

23. Changes to Life Ribbon or These Terms

We may change Life Ribbon, add or remove features, update pricing, adjust usage limits, or modify these Terms. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the Last Updated date and, where appropriate, through the app, website, email, or account notice.

Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Life Ribbon and cancel any subscription through the applicable billing provider.

24. General Terms

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Data Retention Policy, purchase terms, and any feature-specific terms, are the entire agreement between you and us for Life Ribbon.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
